You have been hired by a metropolitan local council in Victoria as a nutrition promotion officer. Recent statistics indicated that nearly 60% of the people who work in this area, live here as well. The workforce survey done in 2019 revealed that the majority of workers do not meet the current
recommendations for vegetable intake.

The council wants to improve the vegetable intake of workers in this council and as a start, they want to implement a program in one of the highly populated suburbs of this council and target office-based
workers in the first instance. The selected suburb has three office-based workplaces. Also, it has two supermarkets, one hospital, four GP clinics, several cafes, restaurants and bars, two primary schools and two secondary schools Your team (i.e. nutrition promotion team) has been tasked with developing a nutrition promotion program, aiming to increase vegetable consumption among workers in the three office-based workplaces.”

Your task for Assignment 2:
You have been asked to write a detailed report about your project, providing the evidence behind your decisions made. This will be used for final approval of the program before development and implementation.

There are two parts to this assignment.
A) Detailed plan based on AT 1 group assignment (1400 words)
B) Develop the digital/ media resource (Equivalent to approximately 600 words. See descriptions and examples below)

What referencing style do I use?

Is there a cover sheet?
No cover sheet is required.

Is there a suggested font size/type?
No. As long as it is easily readable. I recommend minimum 11 or 12 depending on the font you choose.

What is included in the word count?
Headings, sub-headings, and references (reference list at the end of the assignment) are not included in the word limit. The in-text citations are included in the word count.

How do I calculate the word count for my resource?
The word count for the resource is “equivalent” in terms of effort needed. Some examples are below:

Video or oral presentation/ Podcast: 2.5 – 3 minutes

Blog entry: 500-600 words (can incorporate visual appeal/photos/graphs which count for ‘words’ E.g. 400-500 word blog with some images/visuals would be ideal here)

Online newsletter /web page: 300-400 words depending on the creativity of input (e.g. use of graphics). It is important that information is kept simple, in dot points where possible and is not too wordy. Much of the “equivalent word count” may be in the presentation and use of visuals such as infographics.

Infographic: this should not include a lot of words. A good quality 1-2-page infographic should suffice.

Instagram account or similar: should contain a brief description and examples of several posts with photos. (Again, the posts do not need to add up to 600 words, in fact it is best they are kept brief it’s the creativity that counts here). You may like to include a ‘link’ to one more detailed resource –
to make up the equivalent word count.

Note: For web pages/blogs/ Instagram accounts or similar – please submit the link for your resource along with a few screenshots.

Other: other ideas are fine but if you are unsure about word count equivalency, please speak with your seminar teacher.

USE OF RECIPES:
If you wish to provide recipes, this can be stated in one sentence that recipes will be provided. Please do not include recipes in your resource, unless you are showing how to change an existing recipe to make it healthier (e.g. in an online educational resource for the workers).
