Q2- Present a comparative account of financial and non-financial institution on the following: LOs (a, b, d, e) (40% each)
A. Explain the difference between the nature of revenue and expenses (costs) items in the income statement. Critically evaluate sources of revenue and expense items? How the financial instruments impact this difference.
B. Discuss the structure of net assets in the financial position statements in terms of being financial instruments and non-financial instruments. Critically evaluate the significance of IFRS 9 to govern the financial instruments especially in the banking industry.

c) Preparation of financial statements (key components and statements, disclosure requirements,accounting policies and procedures, etc.)

d) Undertake detailed analysis of corporate performance based on financial statements, including the use of traditional and cash flow based accounting ratios. Appraise and communicate the results in an effective and reflective manner.

Employ ability & Change maker Skills:
e) Communicate numerate information effectively in writing, using appropriate information technology at an advanced level.
f) Manage and organise study time and utilise a range of study skills so that knowledge and subject-specific skills can be applied to solve problems and challenge accepted wisdom in a selective critical and reflective manner.

Late submission of work
For first sits, if an item of assessment is submitted late and an extension has not been granted, the following will apply:
