1.Student has identified critical issues that influence relationships and communication with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
2.Student demonstrates understanding of the impact of European settlement,loss of land and culture and the importance of law and kinship and how these factors contribute to ill health and associated issues.
3.Understanding of own culture, western systems and structures and how this impacts on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures as necessary for cultural awareness and cultural competence
4.Student understands the importance of establishing key aspects of cultural safety in consultation with local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and shows awareness of the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

5.Student understands how to use communication techniques and work practices that show respect for the cultural differences of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and acknowledges the need to engage with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander interpreters and colleagues as cultural brokers, according to situation needs
6.Understands the importance of involving Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait
Islander people in evaluations and revise strategies based on evaluation
with appropriate engagement of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
people. And the importance of integrating strategies that encourage self-
