Alejandro, a 32-year-old male, was admitted to the acute medical ward last night via the Emergency Department after apolypharmacy overdose that included antidepressants and paracetamol in an attempt to end his life. He is under aninpatient treatment order (legal orders) and is under direct and close nursing observations (1:1 nurse specialobservations).
He was admitted to the ward for monitoring for medical management that includes monitoring paracetamol blood levelsand NAC (N-Acetylcysteine) infusion. Alejandro regrets that he did not die. He reports that he experiences persistentsadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities. He was diagnosed with major depressive disorder.

Social History:

• Unemployed and receives Centrelink benefits.
