Intent: In this assessment you will conduct and present a critical analysis of your organisation’s current TM
processes and practices/capabilities. You will then discuss how to implement a new technological innovation
within the organisation. This task will allow students to see the link between technologies and TM capabilities.
Adopting tools to analyse the implementation of technological innovation will facilitate students to observe the
gaps in current TM practices. Then, the student will develop solutions to overcome the observed gaps. The student is encouraged to engage and interview their organisation’s executive leaders to make this a practice-based assignment.

This task will include a peer review component. Following the assessment due date, you will be
required to review and comment on the presentations submitted by your peers. You must leave a
comment of around 150-250 words evaluating the strengths and your peers’ analysis and offering
any suggestions for improvement. Your comments will be worth 10% of your mark for this
assessment.

Task instructions:
Based on your choices of an organisation and a technological innovation described in Assignment 1, you will conduct a thorough analysis of the existing TM practices at the organisation and present these in a five minute video.

Your presentation should include the following topics.
– Evaluation of TM capabilities/practices of an organisation (six capabilities introduced in weeks 2, 3, and
4).
– Use TIM tools (any tools introduced during weeks 2, 3, and 4) in your analysis.
– Explanation of how the organisation should implement the selected technological innovation.
– What are the strategic issues (gaps) in the current TM – Why do they exist and what are their implications
for the successful implementation of the technological innovation?
– Identify gaps in current TM practices that could prevent the successful implementation of new technology.
